Upcoming DVD Releases from The Murphy Method

Red HenryMany, many of you write to us, inquiring when your favorite Murphy Method video is going to be available as a DVD. Well, we have 28 DVDs now, and we’re planning 10 more for this year. The new DVDs planned for 2009 are:

1. Easy Songs for Banjo (an all-new project taught by Casey)

2. Soldier’s Joy and Other Favorites (was “Playing in C Vol. 2″)

3. More Advanced Earl

4. Rawhide and Other Favorites

5. Great Banjo Tunes (was “Advanced Banjo”)

6. Vamping: Beginning Banjo Backup

7. Slap Bass

8. Intermediate Mandolin Vol. 2 (Which just arrived and is available!)

9. Bluegrass Rhythm Guitar Vol. 2

10. Clawhammer Banjo Vol. 2

We hope to release all these DVDs by the middle of 2009. The time involved is really out of our control, since we have to wait until each song’s publisher sends us permission. But we’ll release each of these as soon as we have the paperwork!

How about a DVD with Murphy teaching “Jed Clampett” and any other good bluegrass tunes that she has not taught yet on DVD. We’ve got “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” and “Dueling Banjos,” just need “Jed Clampet” to round out the tunes that the non-bluegrass public associate with the 5-string banjo. Thanks.

Funny you should ask about that. It is going to be on the new Easy Songs DVD that we’re filming in a couple of weeks. It’s not exactly an easy song, but so many people have asked for it, we’re including it anyway!

    Hi Red

Looking forward to all those new banjo titles being released over the coming months. You have been busy

I will say though that I have recently experienced a small problem ordering High Breaks & Back Up and Picking Up the Pace with Murphy & Casey here in the UK. I had these two titles on back order for several weeks and in the end had to cancel the order.

Normally ALL my orders through my local UK importer who sources all your titles through Mel Bay without any problems has, on this occasion, reported some difficulty with international licences in regards to these two titles which has lead me to postpone any further orders until such times as the matter has been resolved.

Casey I hope you haven’t forgotten my request for Murphy to teach Tennessee Waltz on one of her videos. It would certainly be great learning this with Jed Clampet.

    Regards Tam
