As you will see if you read this whole thing, I have signed up to be a team leader to raise money for Alzheimer's research. And as you may know, both my parent's had Alzheimer's for the last 10 years of their lives. My sisters and I managed to take care of them in their home--with the help of some outstanding caregivers the last few years. Naturally, I worry about inheriting the disease myself. So, the more research the better! I would love it if you could make a contribution, which you can do by following the link to my team page, below.
To raise money my team, Murphy's Misfits, will be doing some bluegrass jamming on The Longest Day, Friday, June 21, from 9 am-9pm. We would also love to have you come and jam with us or just come and listen. We will be picking at 23 South Stewart Street in Winchester Va. If it's a nice day, we'll even pick outside some!
So, check out the message from the Alzheimer's Longest Day Team below. They are being very helpful and supportive.
Dear friends and family,I just signed up to lead a team in the Alzheimer’s Association’s newest event, The Longest Day®. From sunrise to sunset on June 21, we get to decide what we do and where we do it – but I need your help! Will you join my team and help me honor people facing Alzheimer's disease on the longest day of the year?
Here’s how it works:
Help me raise awareness in our community and raise funds to advance Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Join my team today. Thanks, My Team Page: http://thelongestday.alz.org/ |
